Experience the vibrant spirit of gypsy jazz with an international flair as virtuoso guitarist Filippo Dall’Asta returns to Linton Village Hall with his new band.
Leading a brand-new quartet formed in Barcelona, Filippo is joined by powerhouse vocalist Francesca Confortini, and two stars of the Spanish jazz scene: Neter Calafati on guitar and Oscar Tinoco on double bass.
Blending the infectious swing of Django Reinhardt with bebop, classical and world music influences, the quartet delivers a thrilling performance of jazz standards and original compositions…rich with storytelling, fiery improvisation, and irresistible rhythm.

This is gypsy jazz with a global heartbeat. Intimate, theatrical, and joyfully alive.

Francesca Confortini – Vocals

Milan-born and London-based, Francesca is a jazz vocalist, songwriter and educator with a soulful tone and theatrical flair. A graduate of ICMP and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, she has performed at iconic venues including Ronnie Scott’s, the Barbican and Wembley Stadium. Her style fuses jazz, soul, funk and gypsy swing into a uniquely expressive voice. Francesca is also the founder of Ponente Entertainment and a vocal coach at ICMP.

Filippo Dall’Asta – Guitar

Italian-born and Barcelona-based, Filippo Dall’Asta is a guitarist, composer and bandleader acclaimed for blending gypsy jazz with classical, bebop and Indian influences. A Royal Albert Hall regular and collaborator with legends like Stochelo Rosenberg and Joscho Stephan, his debut solo album Mediterasian was hailed as “one of the best instrumental albums of the year” (LA Music Critic Awards). His playing is known for both technical brilliance and emotional depth.

Live Music Night with The Whiskey River Acoustic Quartet

Cajun blues and country from the deep south, played on a dazzling array of instruments with 3 part harmony vocals.

The Whiskey River Acoustic Quartet are Martin Blake, Aidan Sheehan, Tommy Mills & Alan Cooper, a pruned down, all acoustic version of the 5-piece electric swamp-rocking band Whiskey River. Between them, they play a dazzling variety of instruments including acoustic guitar, fiddle, Cajun accordion, harmonica, mandolin, banjo, double bass. penny whistle and various percussion instruments. In their performances, they play a wide variety of material, much of it from the Southern states of America, incorporating Retro Swamp Blues, Cajun, Zydeco, Folk and Country with a spattering of traditional Irish thrown in for good measure, all delivered with three-part harmony vocals and a real sense of fun and enjoyment.  A dynamic combination, a good time guaranteed, not to be missed!

VE Day Commemorations:  1940’s  Cream Tea

To mark the 80th anniversary of VE Day, and celebrate peace in Europe, the Village Hall  held a 1940’s style  Cream Tea on the Bank Holiday, Monday 5th May.  Many thanks to everyone who came and supported this event , – here are some of the photos taken on the day.


VE Day Commemorations: ‘Lighting the Beacon with Flames of Peace’ on Thursday 8th May at 9.30pm

The Village of Linton Trust (VoLT)  joined the nation in Lighting a Beacon at the end of Linton Ridge, by kind permission of Mr. and Mrs. J Pugh. Many thanks to everyone who helped set up the Beacon, and supplied the torches and the fire pit.

 Jeni Howland Yoga – Come and Join- new members welcome!

Jeni has been practicing yoga for over 20 years and teaching yoga for around 8 years. She has many varying qualifications in dance, fitness, gymnastics and different strands of yoga. Jeni is also a Natural Health Practitioner, and practices in Ledbury and Cheltenham.

Please bring your own yoga mat if you have one (there will be a couple available to borrow if you need). This class will be a mixed level class and will be welcoming to beginners as well as being beneficial and enjoyable for those who have done yoga before. You don’t need to be flexible or “good at yoga” to come along as we all start our own yoga journey anew each time we come to our yoga mat. TRY YOUR FIRST CLASS FOR FREE
