The Alma Inn

You will find The Alma in the centre of Linton village, close to the spired church of St. Mary with it’s ancient yew trees.

This is a free house owned by Dan and Gemma Evans and their family. Emphasis is on providing a convivial atmosphere where everyone, male or female, feels comfortable from any age group and from all walks in life. There is a pool table and darts board. There are no fruit machines, nor is there a juke-box. Background music is provided and may be requested.

The Linton Festival has it’s home at the Alma Inn and is a Music event held over 3 days in June. It has been running for 20 years, is crewed by volunteers, and gives donations to charity yearly.  There is a great line-up with some fabulous headline acts such as Bernie Marsden, Ruby Turner, Wilko Johnson and Dr Feelgood.

The pub gets its name from the Crimean War and the battle of the river Alma in 1854. Parts of the building date from the early 17th century, but the feel inside is Victorian. There are two bars.

Between the years 2001-2010 The Alma has been recognised five times in the CAMRA annual Pub of the Year awards in Herefordshire:
